What is the PUV Modernization program and what does it mean for you? Let's talk about the changes we're going to start seeing with the iconic Philippine Jeepney!
The first thing that comes to mind with the PUV Modernization program is Electric Jeepneys, right? But there's really so much more to this program from the Department of Transportation - Philippines
Aside from the E-Jeepneys, there will also be those with Euro 4 diesel engines. Those are modern engines which are highly-efficient and much better for the environment.
There are safety requirements like loading passengers from the side, instead of the back of the vehicle and also dashcams and onboard CCTV.
There's also convenience factors like support for electronic payments via beep card
The electric Jeepney I showed at the beginning of this video is from Philippine Utility Vehicle Inc - Phuv with their battery system and powertrain coming from QEV Philippines
Something I forgot to mention in the video is that QEV have already struck a deal with Shell Philippines to install e-vehicle chargers in their gas stations!

Mar Roxas, Franklin Drilon Top Drug Lord Protectors in Visayas, Drug Lord’s Sworn Affidavit Says
Former DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) Secretary Mar Roxas and Senate Minority Floor Leader Franklin Drilon are the top drug lord protectors in the Visayan region. This is according to a sworn affidavit of suspected drug lord Ricky Suarez Serenio, who was arrested last January 8 at his hideout in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
“That in this affidavit I will identify the personalities involved and narate the facts and circumstances surrounding the drug trade propagated by the so-called narcopoliticians in the Visayan region. I am referring to the druglords being protected by none other than Mar Roxas and Franklin Drilon, who had the plan of controlling the illegal drug business in the Western Visayas-Panay/Negros,” Serenio wrote on his sworn affidavit, dated October 18, 2017.
“That Mar Roxas and Franklin Drilon are the political patrons of Iloilo Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog who is closely connected to the two as shown in the political inclination of the city which is a “pro-yellow” during the elections in 2016. However, there is a deeper reason to that affiliation. Mayor Mabilog is the indefatigable protector/strong supporter of the former druglord Melvin Odicta, Sr. who formed his famous conjugal illegal drug operations with his wife Merriam Odicta, operating centrally in Iloilo City making it the most “shabulized” City in the country,” Serenio added.
“That while they consider me as a useful and a potential go-to person, this Roxas-Drilon drug scheme in partnership with Melvin Odicta was designed to take over the drug trade in Negros by kicking out Berya Tolentino and Camaria from their dominance as local drug suppliers. Being in power with close association to the PNP, it was easy for the Roxas-Drilon tandem to paralyze, and eventually overthrow the Berya-Camaria drug operations and wipe out these groups from operating in the Negros Island, the main objective of which is to turn over the drug operations in Negros to Odicta. Indeed, the Negros market is bigger than in Panay or Iloilo as confirmed in the declarations of Pres. Duterte that the NIR is No. 3 as most drug affected in the country,” he said further.
Serenio, 34, from Bacolod City, is considered by the Police Regional Office (PRO-18) as a Level 3 drug lord who operates mostly in Negros Occidental. Bacolod City Judge Eduardo Sayson issued an arrest warrant against him grave coercion, after he took his partner Hannah Javelosa as hostage. But later, he admitted being involved in illegal drug trade.

Aniya, hindi tanga ang mga Amerikano na hindi alam ang pagkakaiba ng tama at mali kung kaya't hindi sila maaaring malinlang ng Senador na labis mambatikos sa Administrasyong Duterte na tinawag pa niyang "mamamatay-tao."
Dagdag pa ni Andanar na hindi nila pipigilan si Trillanes sa kanyang mga plano sa Amerika at sinabing hindi na dapat pang bumalik sa Pilipinas ang Senador.

On Monday, Colonel Edgard Arevalo, public information chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, said they received field reports that the two local terror leaders, Omar Maute and Isnilon Hapilon, are dead.
“May natanggap akong mga reports pero hindi ko pwedeng i-announce. Hindi ko makumpirma but may impormasyon na. I’m not at liberty to announce it,” he told reporters at a news forum at Kamuning Bakery Cafe.
Radio dzBB’s Benjie Liwanag reported that two sources confirmed the information to him.
According to a report by Emil Sumangil on News To Go on Monday, both Hapilon and Omar Maute were killed in a “final assault” Sunday midnight by selected members of the Army’s Scout Ranger Regiment and several special forces.
Hapilon and Omar Maute, according to the TV report, were killed inside a building beside the Binidayan dock in Lanao del Sur.
The bodies of the two are now at a military headquarters to undergo DNA tests, along with other members of the Maute group killed during the operation.
During a Pastoral meeting later on Monday, Villegas said the photos of the killed leaders should not have been shown to public especially that of Omar Maute, whose head was blown-out by sniper rifle.
“Sana man lang binigyan nila ng konting respeto yong bangkay ng tao. Binaril e sa ulo pa, pwede namang sa katawan para ma-minimize ang damage”, Villegas said.
Villegas also added that the brutal killing of the two maute members is a solid evidence that EJK is alive inside the country.
“Dinedeny ng Presidente natin na walang EJK, pero itong nangyari sa dalawang kapatid nating muslim, ito ang pinakamatibay na ebidensya na walang awang pumapatay ng tao ang mga alagad ng gobyerno”, Villegas added.
The radio report said the confirmation of Hapilon and Maute’s deaths may have already reached President Rodrigo Duterte. Malacañang and Defense officials, however, have yet to issue any statement on the matter.

The 20-hectare sports complex will include a Multi-purpose Human Kinetics Building,Football Stadium, Track Oval and an Aquatics Center, among others.
The Multi-Purpose Human Kinetics Gym will serve as a training gym equipped with standard and modern sports facilities and may cater to indoor sports.
The Football Stadium that will have a 30,000-seating capacity and will meet the minimum requirement of FIFA, world governing body of football, may soon host the national and international competitions.
